Please read the information below to check if you can obtain a visa on arrival or if you require a pre-arranged visa to enter the United Arab Emirates.
1. Visa on Arrival
Citizens of the following countries/regions, DO NOT need a visa prior to travelling to the UAE.

Upon disembarking at Abu Dhabi International Airport, proceed to Immigration, where you will receive your visa.
Important information for Visas on Arrival:
Passports should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months
Type of Visa: 30 days Tourist visa
Duration of stay: 30 Days including the entry and the departure days
Number of entries: Only single entry is permitted
An eye scan will be taken at the Immigration desk in the airport
Fee: Free of charge
Only normal passports can be used for visa applications (i.e. no Diplomatic Passports)
Other Countries - Pre-arranged Visas
Nationals of countries not included in the Visa on Arrival list will be required to apply for a pre-arranged visa to enter the United Arab Emirates.
The validity of a prearranged visa is 60 days from the date of issue and guests must, therefore, enter the U.A.E. within that time period, otherwise, the visa will be invalid.
*PLEASE NOTE: prearranged visas are only valid for 60 days from the date that they are issued (i.e. you have to enter the UAE within 60 days, or the visa becomes invalid). Therefore, the dedicated online World Energy Congress visa application page will not be available until approx. 58 days before the event start date. The link for this will be published here
Documents to prepare for your application:
1. A colour passport copy - JPEG format, max 1 MB in size.
2. A colour copy of official photo - size 4.3 x 5.5cms, colour photo, white background, at least 80% of the face must be visible - JPEG format, max 1 MB in size.
3. Confirmed return flight ticket – PDF, JPEG, max 1 MB in size.
Fee: To be confirmed when application system goes live. To be paid by credit card at the end of the application process.
A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you when your application has been received. The progress of your application can then be tracked online with your application reference number.
After communication from UAE Immigration, an email will be sent to you with the corresponding decision. Successful applicants will then receive their visas by email.
After receiving your visa, you must print it out and carry it with you for boarding the airplane
Alternatively, you can apply for a visa through your nearest UAE embassy.

Visa Application Timing
The processing time for an application is typically 3-5 UAE working days (Sunday to Thursday).
Whether an application is approved or not is at the sole discretion of the UAE Immigration Department and it is no other party’s responsibility if the visa is declined. Fees paid in regards to approved or declined application cannot be refunded.
Issuance of a visa or approval on the visa application does not in any way guarantee right of entry to UAE. Entry is at the sole discretion of the Immigration officer at the Airport.
